"Moulin Rouge! The Musical" Dazzles Teens on Opening Night of Long Louisville Run

While today’s teens weren’t around in 2001 when director Baz Luhrmann’s opulent and unconventional movie musical, “Moulin Rouge!," hit theaters to acclaim, they have been able to connect to the stage musical since it opened on Broadway in 2019 and launched a North American tour three years ago.

In February, PNC Broadway in Louisville finally brought the tour to Louisville’s Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, which ran through March 2.

On opening night, Feb. 18, teens with Arts Angle Vantage got to see the spectacle — with extravagant sets, costumes and lighting and the musical mash-ups of pop songs. They took it all in for their reviews, which also ran in LEO Weekly, our media partner.

"Critical Angle: "& Juliet" • Don't miss the next opportunity for teens with Arts Angle Vantage: a free workshop in musical theater and critical reviewing that includes free tickets and the opportunity to review the musical "& Juliet," part of the PNC Broadway in Louisville series. Register before the March 28 deadline.
